Re: Thoughts on Code Lyoko Evolution

I do want to see William when he's had training under the other LWs. As in, he's not a newbie anymore, yet he also isn't under XANA's control. I also want to see if he gets a new vehicle! (if he's not under XANA's control, that is, and Jeremie decides to give him one) I also want him to work out his issues with Yumi and Ulrich. There was always some (understandable) tension going on between the three of them, and it'd be a fun plot twist if he and Ulrich became really good friends. Though I wouldn't want his friendship with him to overshadow Ulrich's other friendships, but I don't see that happening easily (or really, at all).

Alright, here's my thoughts. If there is gonna be a new LW, it should be a girl, for one. No offense, and I don't want to sound like a rabid female, but 5 boys and 2 girls would irk me slightly. Also, if they do make a new character join, it can't be like the others, either finding out or being initiated.

That'd be like every other typical OC story. A new LW should somehow be connected to the Lyoko World, though not with Aelita's prominence. More like, she is kidnapped/held hostage by XANA (or something like that), and doesn't join at first, but maybe does later... ?

I don't know, but I do know, the fans aren't gonna accept some random character into the series at the beginning of CLE.

Also, I (no offense) wholeheartedly disagree with Stella. Making a new LW who falls in love with Odd would be (imho) nauseatingly cliched. It would make it too complete, too "Aw, now look, every teen in the little group are in love with another in the group".

Yes, I guss that is kind of a clche...

I agre that he/she sholdn't find out abot Lyoko right away, but we'd probbly still meet them in the first epsode...even if they just have him/her say one line...

I dont' mind if a new LW is added, but I don't want it to suddenly become only about that person. Even when she becomes a LW, I want the newbie to stick to more or less the background- learning the ropes and so on, that way we can learn to care for it ourselves, not it shoved in our faces.

There probably is going to be a new LW. ^^; Maybe it would be Sissy, since William started off good, turned basicly into a ****, then failed. ^^; Maybe, Sissy who started off as rude and unlikable- although she has proven herself to be somewhat worthy at times- will be the next LW. Although...I can't really imagine that. ^^;
But I agree with you guys, there should be another girl!!
After all, there has to be another LW. There's five platforms to get on the skid, and only four of the warriors who go in it.
Maybe it'll be Jeremie (yes, yes, please!!!!!!! ^^ *crosses fingers*)

My sis pointed out something that I had meant to bring up, but forgot.

They're looking for actors who can portrat 16 year olds. That's skipping 2 years. If they do start up like no time passed, and like season 4 happened a few months ago, it'll be flat out ridiculous. If two years pass and Ulrich and Yumi are still awkwardly flirting, or William and Sissi are just getting used to being in the group (they were brought in at the end). Time has passed. What will have changed?

But it'll secretly turn out that while on the surface Aelita seems to be coping with her father's death, on the inside she is wracked with grief. In secret, she goes to the Supercomputer with the purpose of trying to put her father back together piece of data by piece, and to counter the loss of his body she builds a robot for his soul to inhabit when he returns.

So did I. Left my initial reaction in that thread, but yeah. They actually look really darn good. The only exception is that the Jim actor looks a little too in shape to be Jim.

Otherwise, without hearing voices and such, things are shaping up quite nicely. Good story setup, good ideas, good actors.

My cynicism might just be broken.

Here's Aelita. And we think her headband was to make sure her hair, which had been spray-painted, didn't get on her face and make it pink too.

Maybe it was just drying when the picture as taken? Because even cheap spray on pink hair stuff doesn't really stain your face after it's dried on...or at least it shouldn't, especially not expensive stuff.

This is almost terrifying. When I first watched CL, they were five-six years older than me. Now I'm the same age as them. My God, time has passed.

You have a great point though. We didn't see William and Sissi getting more involved with the group, but at the same time, you're right, something has to have happened. Relationships don't just stay stagnant for two years. I think I'll be most excited to see how Sissi and Ulrich react. They never got on fantastically, for completely understandable reasons, but she's two years older now, and Yumi and Ulrich would theoretically be dating (maybe? ...at least in my headcanon), so I'd hope to see them in a happy friendship and all that nice stuff. And also! You reminded me that Sissi will be in their group. Or maybe she won't, since they'll have had a falling out in the past two years we didn't watch. And she'll go back to being the snappy sort-of-sort-of-not antagonist. That'd be a disappointment if that really happened though. I've always wanted her to learn about Lyoko, even if it isn't extremely likely.

I do hope that Sissi isn't the antagonist to their group. It would be nice to see if they formed some kind of friendship with her and joined the LW, like you guys were saying. And also, after seeing that video with the cast, I'm super excited. Though they shouldn't torment me by not showing their faces (especially Jeremie and Odd). XD

And I'd love to see Sissi as a Lyoko Warrior, but I'm worried about how she hasn't been mentioned at all. They'd better not have pulled her from the show. So much time has passed, it'd be realistic (but awful) if some minor characters (maybe Sissi, Herb, Nicholas, Milly, Tamiya, Johnny, ect.) left the school. Now there's a horrible thought...

Okay, since I have seen Code Lyoko Evolution in a new light, I would like to express my new opinions. At first, I didn't like that that season 5 was going to be live action. I didn't like it at all because I've never really been a fan of those kinds of things (unless of course they're superhero movies...does that count?) Anyway...I have just recently watched the casting trailer for Code Lyoko Evolution and my thoughts on it have changed. I am actually really excited for it now. Mainly because - from what I saw of them anyway - the character casting looks great. And I heard that Sissi would be joining the team in the new season; this, I'm hoping, means that her and Odd will become a thing X3
My concern for Code Lyoko Evolution however, are that I don't want it to be a flop. You know, with bad acting, extremely poor special effects, yadayada. I also am not sure how many would want to watch it because it is a continuation of a past show way back when Cartoon Network was actually good. The new Cartoon Network generation might not be as interested as us. But you know, what do I know? It could be a huge success and I hope it is!
I just know that I'm deffinetly excited for it! (:
