This page shows the actors that are gonna be in Evolution.

Now, I have a theory that Sandrine Rigaux might be Antea, but this might not be true. Antea might have an appearance, but I don't think it's completely confirmed. If Antea does make an appearance, then I have strong feeling that it will be Sandrine. My original guess was Sophie Fougère, but then again I'm not entirely sure.

Cya referred to the latest news on codelyoko.fr that Moonscoop considers selling only CGI part of the show and let the companies in other countries shoot their own live-action.
Yeah. That's a rather unusual approach. I think Chinese broadcasters may fall for it. The rest of the world will probably just dub it, since it's cheaper.

The article is saying that they’re considering only selling the CGI portion, & having the networks in other countries film their own live action stuff. So, let’s say Carton Network picks it up (just as an example). They would have to do their own casting & filming (as well as voce acting, probably, for the CGI) before we would see it…

It's all a money thing. If they did a dub they wouldn't get as much money or interest, this way they have the individual companies buying the rights as well as revenue from any profits they make.

Money-fueled reasoning for me would be "why spend extra money on casting and shooting, when we can dub it for a fraction of these money". Now that I think of it, in face of financial crisis, making "our own" live-action is a too risky enterprise.

Hmm, selling the format(story etc.) itself will bring Moonscoop more profit than selling the entire show? But if it comes with bigger cost for the foreign broadcasters, which would risk investing into their own live-action?

Okay... We'll see. My experience tells me that where I live(Poland) there will be a dubbed French version. If it even will be broadcast here. (I hope it will.)
And even if eventually such "local" versions of Evolution are made, it will be interesting to watch them and spot the differences. ;D

Honestly, Moonscoop is running themselves out with this decision.
Like SmartGuy said, if they just kept their actors and dubbed everything, they'd be making killer money.

I agree that this is a poor business decision from where I'm sitting, but for different reasons.

You're running pretty large risks in contracting and in terms of copyrighting in this scenario. This business model is going to get a lot of grumbles from partnerships who might not have planned or even have the capability to essentially front half of the show themselves.

On top of that, copyright disputes could show up if the result doesn't end up "as the artist intended". The wording in that paperwork better be tight.

Still, I can see a chance to make massive bank here. Having to no worry about languages just by itself it pretty sweet. To have a chance for your clients to forward their own material? Priceless.
