I'm at Florida Tech, a freshman in Software Engineering. I am currently sitting in composition and rhetoric (English 1) and considering simply ignoring the professor, and writing some fic.

Re: School
I'm a senior in high school and I'm dual-enrolled at Lake Sumter Community College. I have a Macroeconomics test tonight, and until then I'm going to ignore the world and sleep instead of study.
Re: School
Ok, uh, I'm a junior at Gainseville State College and I'm studying art. I'm hoping to transfer after I get my associates degree and then study, specifically, graphic design.
Re: School
I'm theoretically a junior. I've been homeschooled through grades 4-10, and starting in the spring of my 10th grade, I began taking classes full-time at Massbay Community College. I'm in my second semester there.
Basically, my sociology class here sucks, and my sociology and pre calc teachers really don't know what they're doing XP

Re: School
I'm year 10 and just starting GCSEs(the three compulsories plus Spanish, Chinese, Drama and History), no idea what that means in terms of American schooling but whatever
Also, just because I love how it looks, this is a picture of my school.

Re: School
Kay, your school looks so pretttty ;a; And I think the grades/years match up, so you'd be a sophomore/in tenth grade here. But we don't really have an equivalent to your GCSEs as far as I'm aware of. o.o
I'm in eleventh grade/a junior. So far junior year isn't that hard, so I'm mostly worried about my SATs. It's not passing it that I'm worried about, but more about getting 2200/2300s rang (I really doubt I'll get a perfect score, so I'm not even going to worry about that ).

Re: School
I did not get a terribly good SAT score, and I'm in a school now that is quite difficult to get into. It really isn't about the SAT scores, it's a combination of a rigorous schedule, and lots of extracurriculars.
Re: School
The thing is that I've heard (and my friend who's a senior actually told me this) that you can get scholarships if you do well on the SAT. While I do believe/agree you can get into a good college without a great score, I'd rather get a great score especially since my school makes it hard to have a rigorous schedule. Like, we can't take AP classes until junior year, we don't have honors classes, and the school doesn't make it easy to take more than one AP in your junior year. >8|
On a happier note, this exchange student I was sitting next to in writing switched papers with me when we were doing the writing workshop! And she hadn't translated hers to English yet, but I wanted to try reading it anyway, and I sort of succeeded. I got the general gist of it anyway.

Re: School
Kinda bullshit of your school... But in regards to scholarships, the ones with the essays are the lucrative ones.
Re: School
GCSEs are like important tests that help with getting into college/university I think, but A levels are more important...I'm not sure ^^; I really want to go to university but I have no idea if I'll be able to afford it when I get to that point ;-;
Re: School
I'm a 10th year in High School. I take all my core classes besides foreign language at an honor level.
I really want to get a degree in psychology. I really need to figure out which college to go to eventually.

Re: School
I keep getting screwed over by the master schedule. Last year I was supposed to be in English 3 Honors, but since they changed the way the honors system works (all or none, basically), and since the only period I had open was first, they threw me into regular. Same thing now with American Government. I'm supposed to be in AP but since I'm dual-enrolled and I'm not supposed to be on campus during first block therefore (the only block it's taught) they threw me in regular. REGULAR. This class doesn't challenge me nearly enough and it drops my weighted GPA because it's a 4.0 class and not a 5.0 or 6.0 class. T__T
That being said, I'm loving my Macroeconomics class right now.

I feel bad for you/your generation... fees are going to be killer. Here's hoping it doesn't stop you though! Maybe the situation will have changed by then, you never know.
And A Levels are pretty much the most important, though you need to prove you can do English and Maths to GCSE level (if you didn't take them at AS/A2).

Re: School
I hope I can, I'm not even sure where I want to go yet anyway ^^; and I really hate maths! I don't mind English and science can be kinda interesting but maths is just ugh! I hate it, but not as much as my physics teacher.
Compulsory subjects annoy me...but I guess they're kinda useful...well English and basic maths is

No! I don't sneak out of school to fight a computer virus named Xana! And, yes, I have good grades. That's all I'm gunna say!

Re: School
I'm in seventh, and enjoying it too~
Because when I move onto the nearby highschool (I'm in the highest grade of an elementary school) it's going to get tougher. Right now, it's pretty easy.

A class of mine got canceled, & I’m currently working through some red tape…but if everything works out, this should be my last semester of college!
Re: School
Uuuugh. Friend drama to deal with tomorrow.
Normally, my friends are nice enough to each other, but there's a kind of immature and dramatic one that sometimes stirs up trouble.

Re: School
I'm a senior in high school. My school is ghetto as hell, and I gotta deal with ignorant people on a daily basis. Everyday, when walking up the stairs, there's always some guy's boxers in your face.... Like OMFG! PULL YOUR DAMN PANTS UP! ITS NOT ATTRACTIVE! I know what sagging meant in the past, but why the hell are people still doing it??? My English class is very chaotic.
Re: School
I remember that this one guy wore his pants like that in high school…& his pants fell down during class, lol…Good thing he was wearing boxers…
Re: School
Oh you Americans and your non-umiform schools...who am I kidding, I'd love to not have to put on a blazer and tie every morning and then have to go through so many hours of 'tuck your shirt in' 'roll your sleeves down' 'do your top button up' etc...=.=
Re: School
Don't worry Kay, I had to wear uniforms in middle school... xD Lol, but the american uniforms just consist of regular Khaki or Navy Blue pants with a white polo shirt (or your team shirt. We went by colors. Red, emerald, orange, purple, and blue.) similar to What jeremie wears in the series. Although, I am happy I don't have to where uniforms, I kinda miss it cuz it was so much quicker to get ready in the morning.
Re: School
my little sister has to deal with uniforms. course, she goes to a catholic high school, so there was a pretty good chance she'd need to wear them
