I would be doing it, but considering I'm having enough problems writing a normal amount of fic, dealing with homework, preparing for various Controlled Assessments and practising for a national Mandarin speaking competition, I've decided to give it a miss this year. :/

Why do I keep doing this to myself?? I had days to write an essay and did nothing! It's just too painful to start, and I just don't care anymore.

How long is this essay supposed to be? It might not take that long, essays under 4 pages can be written in an hour and still get As if you know what you're doing.

Aaah my friends doing that speaking competition, our teacher asked him to do it because she doesn't think the rest of us are good enough ^^ it's in Newcastle right? Or is it regional first and then national? I don't know, but good luck with it. 

English exam tomorrow, I got 65/80 in the mock we did last week and my course work is a 67/80, so I'm not too worried, it all depends on what the grade boundaries end up being ;-;

What's it about?

The essay was to choose one line fro a book, and explain why it encompassed the entire book. It had to be 3+ pages, and required lots of other quote examples, so it took longer than usual.

Now tonight I need to do the rough draft of my grad project. Then my teacher said she'd go a bit easy on us until break.

From the HSBC website, the 'regional' divide is between North & South - there's a heat in Newcastle on the 5th and then another in London on the 9th, with a possible third in Bristol if numbers demand it. Then there's a final in January next year.

It also says to pay attention to tones, which, Temple and Arch, I am pretty good at. Same with consonant sounds, although my vowels are sometimes a bit squiffy, I feel.

I'm kind of panicking a bit? But then I remember that I'm comfortable enough in Mandarin to make cannibalism jokes in it, so yeah.

That’s really good! I don’t think I was ever good enough in Spanish to say anything other than very simple sentences…

Same for me, but with German and French. Funny story, I went to Germany on a school trip for a few weeks in 2010. My host student brought me to one of his soccer games and I met the other parents. I started speaking German to one of them, and he leaned over and said, "I'm from the United States too."

He was stationed in town many years ago, and he liked it so much that he decided to start a family there.

I have an Xbox at my house that my sister's boyfriend gave me, but I never use it. I took up on the offer of taking it though, because...FREE XBOX.

I kind of want an Xbox, mostly because my friends have them…On the other hand, we like totally different kinds of games, so I don’t know how much we’d play online even if I had one…
