Re: General Chat: May
From my experience, it’s better to e-mal the advisers first. This way, if you hear one answer through e-mal & then somebody else tells you something different, you’ll have proof in writing & it won’t just be a game of he said/she said…I honestly have no idea how the college life goes, but I know that you do take courses at a college, and if they have them, maybe seeing one of their counsellors would help. Real-life support is super important for when you can't access the internet.
Re: General Chat: May
Do you like your cereal crunchy or soggy? I prefer to eat it up before it gets too soggy. I can't do this with a couple different cereals though, because if I do, the pieces will actually cut the inside of my mouth. That happens with cocoa puffs, froot loops, and a few others.

Crunchy. Always.
Guys, I have a question to ask.
TW, suicide.
A friend and I were talking about a number of stuff, and finally we started talking about suicide. I don't even know if I can talk to him again after this conversation. So I need to know what you guys think.
Do you find that a person who kills themselves (most specifically after being bullied) is weak? Do you feel they should have just learned to not let others' words and actions affect them, and that they should have found their own way to validate their existence?
Do you think that bullying is just a natural experience at school, or something that should be strictly punished?
Do you feel that bystanders to a suicide, who have never been bullied, have the right to pass judgement on the person who killed themselves? Or do you think they are grossly apathetic for behaving so callously towards someone else's suffering and pain?
I want to know what most people think, so please answer.

Re: General Chat: May
I do not find that a person is weak if they commit suicide. My sister's friend committed suicide a few years ago, and it happened because he was panicked and didn't know what to do. I do not believe that suicide is the right choice at all, but for some people who commit it, maybe they are tired of being strong.
Bullying is not just a natural thing at school, it's a natural part of life. Plenty of people have bullied in some way or another at some point(s) in his/her life. It is the same as everyone has been bullied in some shape or form in his/her life. It isn't nice, but it happens.
I do not think people should be rude about others who have committed suicide, but they certainly have a right to disagree with it.

Re: General Chat: May
I disagree with you on the middle part. The thing is, in the real world, harassment and physical abuse are punished legally. But they aren't in school. And that's beyond wrong.

Re: General Chat: May
If you're being harrassed and physically abused at school, you need to tell the administrators and ask that they deal with it. And if you can, get your parents in on it too. It worked pretty well for me. There were these girls in sixth grade that decided to spread a big nasty rumor around the entire school that my friends and I were lesbians (which we're not). They did things like scream at the top of their lungs, "I SAW YOU KISSING COURTNEY IN THE GYM BATHROOM!!" in front of the entire bus loop, to which I would say, "I don't even go into the gym bathroom. It's dirty and nasty." And when we were waiting for second period to start (gym was 1st), a few girls would surround me and punch my arms (though not very well since they never left bruises and had it not been that there were 100+ students crowded into an area no larger than a school bus I could've gotten away easily) going, "EW IT'S THE LESBO!" So when I finally told my mom, she got reeeaaally nasty. She had looked up the girls' names and knew where they lived and was ready to make nasty phonecalls. She made phonecalls to the school in the meantime saying that is was bullying (always a good way to get the administration on their feet) and that it needed to be dealt with. So the school called me and the girl into the disciplinary office (and she caught me at the door and tried to get on my good side right then and there, and being a shy little 6th grader I kind of just nodded quietly), where I told them what happened, and she lied through her teeth saying she had been defending me the whole time (which was wrong of course because she would get her group of friends on the bus and sit as far away from me as possible and make a huge scene about it). Anyway, she stopped and we never really had anything to do with each other.
Re: General Chat: May
See, that seems like it worked to me. I only wish that it worked for everyone...
I hate people who say that people should 'stand up for themselves and fight back and make the bullies know they can't pick on you.'
I mean, I couldn't. I don't have the build to fight anyone. Those people just fricken annoy me

Re: General Chat: May
Well I never said that bullying was not wrong, Cya. I was simply saying that bullying is something that doesn't just happen in school, but out in the real world as well. I was also saying that it seems almost natural for a human to do at least once to a few times in his/her life just as it is natural for that person to BE bullied.
On the sticking up part, I believe it is good to stand up for yourself, because, your not always going to be able to call your parents and have them fight your battles. It's okay sometimes, but people also need to learn to fight by themselves.

That was filmed around here. Like, all the locations were somewhere around here. I've been by one of the old asylums it was filmed in.
I've always wanted to see that.

Re: General Chat: May
Leonardo DiCaprio is on Shutter Island to investigate a mysterious case with his partner. It's one of those movies that's like a puzzle all the way through and you try and figure it out, by the ending in unpredictable.
Re: General Chat: May
I don’t know anybody who isn’t affected by what others think about them, no matter how much they say they don’t. Sadly, it’s a part of life, & even though it’s great that people are trying to draw attention to it (CN’s Stop Bullying – Speak Up, for example), I don’t think that will ultimately stop the problem. I think the real change will start when we start teaching kids to accept each other as equals. I don’t think anybody has any right to judge anybody else, regardless of the circumstance.Do you find that a person who kills themselves (most specifically after being bullied) is weak? My diet has gotten so awful, but I lost 6 pounds, so it can't be all that bad. Hopefully I can lose more. I want to be down to 100

^That's great!
@Snickie - Are you allergic to gluten?
I feel bad whenever I talk to anybody about my weight. They talk about gaining or losing pounds, and all I have to say is,
"I've been at 120 lbs. since the 10th grade."
My metabolism is abnormally fast.
