Re: Books
Thx Kelly! but sometimes the title kinda of broaden me! soo i might not read it but i like someone telling me some little facts on the book they are reading.
Re: Books
Did I mention that I read a Separate Peace for English a few months back? Because I did, and I absolutely loved it. It was way more character heavy than plot heavy, and that can bore some people sometimes, but I think it was great.
Re: Books
I finished reading the fourth book in the Wolves of the Beyond series ('tis an extension of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series, for those who didn't know), read all but the final book in the Hater's Trilogy ('Hater' and 'Dog Blood') by David Moody, am currently reading 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' by Ransom Riggs, and am currently on hold for 'Dear Bully' (a collection of tales about bullying taken from the persectives of the by-standers, victims and bullies) and 'Don't Look Behind You' (a collection of real-life tales of people who would've been fine if they had just kept walking instead of looking back to see who's coming).
All but the last two books are fiction.

Re: Books
Reading Lolita. The writing style is amazing and it shifts near the end.
Very controversial indeed.

Re: Books
Okay, so here's a list of my favorite series
Harry Potter
Artemis Fowl
Alex Rider
Young Bond
Don't Know Much About (nonfiction . . . I'm a geek)
The Runaways (graphic novel)
I'm currently reading Ark Angel from Alex Rider, Don't Know Much About the Civil War, and Jane Eyre (for class, but it's actually a good read so far).

Currently reading both Sophie's World and Journey to the West volume 1. They're both really good.

"Song of the Quarkbeast" from "The Last Dragonslayer" series by Jasper Fforde. I can confirm now he is a great author. These books are interestingly written and the plot is amazing.
Re: Books
I asked my friend to let me borrow her hunger games book for the same reason. I wanna at least read the first one before the movie comes out.

Re: Books
I have! It's very good along with the second book, Inkspell. I never read the last one but I believe it's called, Inkdeath.
Re: Books
Okay, I'll have to read that too.

Re: Books
You deffinetly should. You should also read the Maximum Ride books 1-3 (those are really the only important and good ones)
Re: Books
Yeah, I've heard about Maximum Ride too. I need to write up a reading list, and visit the library.

Re: Books
I had a reading list...I lost it and I'm pretty sure I didn't read any of the books. (except for the school required ones)
Re: Books
I'm reading Luminosity on FF.net. It's a Twilight AU where Bella isn't so helpless and fairytale, but rather is logical, cunning and practical. Practically everything changes because of that.

I'm reading Jane Eyre for school. It's actually pretty good. She's one tough cookie.

Re: Books
I liked the pace (but I'm used to reading slow paced books). Normally I have to read the first couple of chapters, and once I do that, I start getting into it.

Re: Books
Idk, I just thought it had too much description. But everyone has their different preferences.
Re: Books
I haven't read it, but I agree that too much description is distracting. When your words are more interesting than the story you're telling, you're not doing a good job.

Re: Books
Yeah, but then when a book doesn't have enough description it's annoying too. In Maximum Ride, I didn't know that Nudge was black until like the middle of the first book. (Not like that's a problem, I'm not racist. I was just imagining her as white the whole time.)
Re: Books
Jane Eyre is very descriptive because of the fact that it is a Victorian Novel. During the Victorian Era, authors word paid by the word so it made sense to be as descriptive as possible. This is also the reason why many Victorian Novels are pretty long.
