Re: Movies
Every year my mom never fails to tell me how I should watch the original Miracle on 34th Street. I expect her to come knocking on my door telling me it's on one of these days.

Re: Movies
There's movie channel dedicated solely to Christmas movies that comes on at this time of year, my mum loves Christmas movies. Personally i find a lot of the rather boring. Especially the old ones.
Re: Movies
Well, we used to watch the same Christmas specials ever year.
We don't anymore, cause we started making fun of them, and it sorta ruined it.
My family is insufferable at making every movie a commentary.

Re: Movies
I think the only christmas special I've watched every year is Dr Who. That's more of a family thing, the 2 part special with the regeneration of the 10th everyone in my family all watched the second part at our house since it was on new years day and that's when we all meet up. Even my cousin who was only 1 shut up while it was on
Re: Movies
Oh my gosh, every freaking year, My dad, aunts, and uncles would change to the channel to watch A Christmas Story when we were at my grandma's for Christmas Eve. Finally, for the first since I can ever remember, last year they decided to watch Family Feud on Christmas Eve.

Re: Movies
Christmas specials are amazing. <3 I never get tired of them.
I watched Breaking Dawn Part II yesterday. It was okay, except there was a seven-year-old next to me. And like, it was really obvious the mother had just brought her as a really lame excuse to watch the movie since the kid kept on asking questions about what was going on.
I find it weird how vampires die though. As in, their heads pop off like barbie dolls do (I may or may not have experience in the ritual of beheading barbie dolls). Or maybe vampires have just gotten very good at slicing off heads.

I haven't seen it yet, but I want to. you may or may not remember my rant concerning Breaking Dawn pt 1 (and my parents insisting they test watch it) but they've decided we're gonna have to wait til new years to watch pt 1, so I don't know when we'll watch part 2. I really want to though.

Re: Movies
Anyone else seen The Hobbit? I went to the midnight premiere and it was awesome! Such a fantastic movie. I recommend it for sure.
Re: Movies
Oh my god, saw the midnight premier, in 3D. It was fantastic. Later saw it again with my family, that evening. Still fantasic.
Definitely recommend. (It's also not ok to fall in love with characters you know are gonna die)

Re: Movies
I do remember! And while it's not a good idea for a seven-year-old (UGH SERIOUSLY why would you even bring that young a kid to BD; you knowww there are going to be scenes leading up to, though not showing, sex), it'd definitely fine for teenagers. BD Part I is even tamer. I'd say the PG-13 rating is actually really perfect for these movies.
[spoilers]I didn't like Alice "dying". I love what Benjamin did. I kept on waiting for Bella to die. I forget if Emmett or Rosalie die, though I love those two. And then it ended up being just a vision. Thank goodness.[/end spoilers]
I've heard The Hobbit is really good, and there were a lot of posts on Tumblr about it around the time it came out. I might see it, but I'm not sure. BD was the first movie I've seen in two months, which is really rare for me. I've barely been watching any movies, even on TV/iTunes.

Re: Movies
I meant it as a kind of "spoiler here so avoid this part", since it's not a major spoiler (I feel like books that turn into movies have a hard time being spoilers, since the movies usually at least stay faithful to who dies and who doesn't).

Re: Movies
Oh my, oh my. That can't end well.
I like Jasper too! And Jane and Alec (I secretly ship Alec with everyone, um, whatever...I did not just admit that). I always felt sorry for Marcus because of what happened to his wife.
I was disappointed that there wasn't a lot of Seth in the movie. He's been one of my favs for ages.
And can I just say that I'm really jealous of the Cullens' house? I love how they have so many windows so the natural light can come in.

Re: Movies
I think I'm walking into a trap where something tragic and horrible happens to one of my beloved character, but...what happens??
I love him so much, and he's so friendly and adorable and I love his actor. SUCH A GOOD CHARACTER UGH GIVES ME FEELSeven though Twilight shouldn't make me emotional but whatever

Re: Movies
I saw Looper!
It was my first rated R movie at the theaters. It was a pretty big deal (not really).
I basically wanted to see it because I'm on a bit of an Inception kick and Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in it. I don't know.

Re: Movies
I saw Silver Linings Playbook, like, ages ago, but I thought I'd put in my two cents anyway! Most of the critics seemed to like it, but I'm kind of confused why. I think the acting was really good, but the plot itself wasn't great. Like, I'm pretty sure your mental illness isn't "cured" with the help of true love. And the scenes just felt jerky and disconnected at times--I guess that was the producer trying to make it seem like more time had passed though, to make it seem more realistic?
ALSOALSOALSO, Monsters University is coming out soon, and I AM SO EXCITED.

Re: Movies
My mam watched both parts of BD with me sat on the sofa playing on my laptop. Now I'm wondering why the Cullens' house is designed to let in so much natural light. Won't they sparkle all the time? And what if someone comes to visit them when they're sparkling?

I watched Wreck-It Ralph and Rise of the Guardians. It's basically all due to tumblr. Yepp.
Re: Movies
Saw it today. I give it 6/10 just cuz I am generous. Honestly, it was a disappointment. More of the typical "disgusting" than horror movie and it's not even the best at that. At least demons can trash talk pretty good...LegendOfTheSky wrote:What's this evil dead thing everyone's fussing about?
