Re: In Xanadu: The Mystery Begins
Jeremie stops to rest for a moment and gazes out at the sunset-hued landscape before him. Like on earth, the artificial sun of Xanadu rises in the east and sets in the west in apparent synchronicity with the current time back at Kadic. As the sun sets, the entire eastern side of the island is shadowed by the large central mountain, creating an odd twilight around you. The mysterious and seemingly endless sea that Xanadu is situated above is as calm as glass, with not even a light breeze to disturb it. Aside from the scrabbling of the group on the boulders and roots covering the path above you, the land is more or less silent.
With your Wits of 4, you stop and think about the particulars of this strange land. You have so far not seen any wildlife, or any indications as to who constructed Xanadu or why. It is obviously meant to be some sort of paradise on earth, but you presume that it was not finished somehow. Aside from the pervasive exposed cables and unnatural shape, the landscape seems empty of life aside from plants.
In addition, the supercomputer has a direct tie to the very fabric of reality, a disturbing fact that you frequently contemplate. What is the purpose of this place and our powers? What is the nature of the strange shadow creatures that seem to appear both on Xanadu and on earth? Who could build such a computer in apparent secrecy, only to abandon it?

Jeremie stops and sits down, looking over the horizon as he quietly mocks. He's slightly angry at himself over his decision. After a long climb they got here, only to find nothing in particular. No door, no clue, no real reasons. He'd be sure to make a few detailed scans of this area this evening.

Odd pressed gently on the sides of the tower, looking for an opening.

He nods in approvement, not quite knowing how to react. Never such a good talker in situations like these.

OOC: I'll start putting links to music on Youtube that I think compliments the current scene. For this one:
Odd: The tower is surrounded by a veritable maze of cables, making it impossible to walk directly up to the tower. Alone on top of the mountain, you sigh and try to begin examining the tower for a possible crawl-way through the knot of cables. After a few minutes you cannot seem to find a clear passage and begin looking for possible ways to climb. With another five minutes or so before Yumi reaches the top, you gaze at the ominous tower before you, which is dramatically lit by the orange sunset and long shadows cast by the nearby trees and cables.
With a Wits of 2, you are so engrossed in the puzzle before you that you are startled by the voice behind you. It is an older, masculine voice that is both startling in its suddenness and slightly soothing in its tone. For a moment it is in a language you recognize as some kind of accented English, and within a second the computer chimes in and you hear it translated into perfect French for you from now on:
Voice: I wonder: what business does a kid like you have in Xanadu?

Re: In Xanadu: The Mystery Begins
Ulrich looked up the mountain, still seeing they had quite a distance to go. He then looked at his friends, who were taking in the view. He would like to relax and look at the sights Xanadu had to offer, however, he was more concerned about Odd, just in case Odd had encountered some of this world's dangerous creatures.
Hey guys, we better catch up to Odd. I think he may need our help if he's already at the top of the mountain.

Odd spun round, and raised his walking stick.
Odd: Who are you?
