CLE Episode 17: A Professional Career Assured
I just got done watching this episode and wanted to point out something that caught my eye, only to find that Snickie hasn't gotten around to making a topic for this episode. So rather than posing a review synopsis (which I suck at), I'll just mention the aforementioned thing I wanted to bring up.
The thing that stuck out to me was when Graven mentioned he worked on the 'largest particle accelerator.'
Given that he's telling the truth, is he saying that Tyron's business is part of CERN (the makers and operators of the Large Hadron Collider)? Given that France is a member state and CERN is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland (which, in turn, had a role in the novels as well) near the French border, I'd say it makes sense.
So what were your thoughts on the episode (if you have seen it yet)?

I did watch it, I just haven't gotten around to posting the topic yet. Mostly because I wanted to watch it with English subs first so I could know for sure what whathisface was saying and what Laura was saying back. I understood what they did on Lyoko just fine; it's the RL scene I need to rewatch for.
I'll post my review later this week.
Edit: Okay, I guess this counts as later. I haven't found the English subs yet, but I did find the Spanish ones, and that's enough for me to understand.
I see Laura has a problem with consistency, as Graven pointed out from her answers. And he knew he had her, especially by her reaction when she was shown the Lyoko avatars. Jeremie was trusting her to keep the secret -- trusting her -- and she had messed up by not thinking. What was she to do next? This guy was obviously a professional and somehow also read into her mind by pointing out the fact that the LWs, her supposed 'friends' (a status which isn't very clear to begin with), did not trust in her normally. And so she probably was seriously considering giving it all up. Besides, she was only at the school to be the best and use its resources to move herself up in the academic and technological ladder, right? And here's this man offering her the best opportunity to do so.
And I think she was very shocked by what Aelita did next by coming in and feigning surrender so she wouldn't have to. Because Aelita did not trust that Laura would do the right thing. Laura knew nothing of what was going on on Lyoko, and Aelita did. So Laura was stuck with having to trust Aelita and go along with what she was saying.
All in all, a very interesting situation, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next episode of this arc.

Re: CLE Episode 17: A Professional Career Assured
This was a very cool and surprisngly tense episode. I was nervous the whole time, since I had seen parts from it and was under the impression that Laura betrayed them to the Man in Black. Happily, she didn't...exactly.
Did anybody else think for, just a second, that there were two Aelitas when the one walks in as "surrender"? It was werid, the way they filmed it with the split screen... I was like "DA HECK YOU DOIN' AELITA?!" because I forgot about the RTTPN. ^^; Over reaction, par usual.
It was really interesting how the Man in Black was able to get into Laura's head and guess what she was feeling towards the others. It'll be intersting to see if she follows up on that information on the card he gave her.
Cool episode. I felt a bit bad for Jeremie when the Man in Black goes to Jim "Oh, this boy isn't smart enough." I mean know Jeremie wanted him to think that, but it's still like "ooooh, yes he is, don't underestimate that cute little blond boy...." (orrrr I might be the only adding the "cute" adjective, but yeah...^^
Still waiting for J/A. ....but good episode!!! ^^

I think this was Lara’s first real taste of what life is like for the Lyoko Warriors. I also kind of love how Alita saved the day in this one. Now that the others can take care of towers, I’ve been kind of hoping we’d see Alita do more outside of Lyoko…
