Lakeside Jazz Festival in Port Orange was all day yesterday and Friday. We didn't get to actually walk around and look at the craft booths though because they closed at 5, and we basically got there around noon, checked in, bathroom break, unload trailer, go to warmup, play onstage, sit through critique, go back to reload the trailer, go back to watch the middle school play, wander for 5 Minutes (not long enough to see everything), go back to the trailer to load the middle school stuff, and drive to the mall in Daytona to eat dinner. We didn't get back to the site until 5:30, and the bands onstage ended up running behind because there were delays at the second performance area due to rain, and so the bands that fell behind had to come perform at the main area and set the rest of the schedule an hour behind. We ended up leaving early and missing awards because of how late we were going to get back. We ended up getting back at midnight. The middle school got straight As across all three judges' sheets for straight superiors, while we got superior excellent excellent.

so I spent a lot of today sleeping when I meant to be writing and finishing my English paper. And now I shall sleep some more.

Good luck on the English Paper! The frozen department guy at work got suspended, so I'm working 40 hours this week to cover while he's gone. I really cannot wait to get back to school in the fall, so I can get out of this grocery store in a few years.

Ahhhhh we got our results from the maths test we did last week and I got a C and it was only just a C ;-; I need to do better because I really don't want to have to do maths again at A level, I'd like to have some time of my school life free of that subject.

Ok
So, as you all may have noticed, I've been battling a s**t ton of depression lately. I've been battling anxiety and stress as well.
That's not what I'm so much as talking about.
I was able to convince my parents to not make me take the two SAT subject tests. I have been beyond overstreched. Motivation-wise, I am running on fumes. It's all I can do to survive this semester. I am over burnt out.
I haven't even been able to look forward to the end of the semester because I was panicking about this test.
I was nearly in tears just thinking about it this morning.
This is a HUGE load off my shoulders. I am so relieved. All I need to worry about is bio and calc. History is doing good. French is doing good.

So, this is some good news for once Smile

Also, playing Portal 2 co op with my boyfriend is one of the best things on earth.

Do you mind PMing me their username? I think they've been making rounds or something since I also got a PM, but I rarely read fics on request. I'm kind of curious if it's the same person though.

Cya:That is great I've had some short term battles with really low self esteem and depression and it makes me happy to hear that your happy. I really hope that doesn't sound creepy.

In other news it turns out I'm the most musically literate in my chorus class.

I've never taken chorus before. We were all required to sing songs on stage in my elementary school, but that ended in 6th grade. In 7th grade I took band instead; I played the trombone.

I read pretty far in before (I don't think I finished though because the length was just overwhelming), and I don't remember seeing anything that should have made it M-rated. Some violence and language, I guess, but not much that I can recall.

Why are you making such a big deal out of this story? I'm sorry, I always thought PMs looking for attention were the equivalent of spamming YouTube comments asking you to watch their videos.
People send these all the times just to get hits and reviews. Did he ask you to beta read?

I'm reading it because I'm A; a bibliophile, and will read anything you put in front of me.
B; this isn't YouTube were talking about. Asking someone to read your work isn't as whorish as it is there. The FF community thrives on feedback and sharing, as does this forum, which exists as an extension of that community.
And C; asking an established author to look something over is completely acceptable, as long as you are willing to deal with critical feedback.

Alright. I just sometimes worry that people are just trying to get as many hits as possible. Probably because the first person who contacted me's fics were clearly trollfics. I'm just wary of them now...
