Re: Suggestion Box
Yeah, that's really weird? Atlas isn't on right now, but I'll make note of it in the chat. I can also edit it for you if you want, though I'm sure you'd want your normal editing privileges back either way.
edit--now that I think about it, it's probably because that's a new forum that was created after the forum layout was changed. General Talk got deleted and then reinstated, so the permissions for editing are probably set on default.

Re: Suggestion Box
That would be the logical explanation.
For the time being, please do edit it. Just put a space between "Irony is not easy to achieve, unless we’re talking about real life. Your weakness?" and "Dialogue" then make the latter bold.

Whoops, forgot to update on this--done! If I did it wrong, feel free to tell me so, of course. Shadows and I are basically posting until we can't avoid chemistry anymore, so we'll be on here for at least ten or twenty minutes longer.

Re: Suggestion Box
It's just great.
Noticed site no longer tells you when someone posts before you submit your post. Was this intentional?

Re: Suggestion Box
Are you sure you didn't happen to post at the same time? Because it notified me when Shadows (my ever-so fantastic lawyer) had posted before me and when you (the guilty defendant) had posted before me.

Suggestion: "Feedback" section should be a sub-forum under "Laboratory" and not inside XL times. Way too hidden for something that should be used frequently.
Any response on this?
I really think there should be a section for forum related issues. I hate this method of piling everything in one or two topics. I mean this topic is for (quoting Soul) smaller suggestions that don't warrant an entire new thread. Post 'em here!. The section itself is primarily used for sharing new ideas submitted by forum members. A section for forum related issues where we can post anything that's not working properly would be nice.
Thank you for reading (if you read it).

Can we please get rid of, or at least change the language filter?

First off I must profusely apologize at having never seen this. I don't know what it was that caused that but if you'll accept the lateness I'll address it now.LegendOfTheSky wrote:

When the forum got condensed it's only natural that things got piled. The idea was the more activity we saw in a section the bigger it was and since there wasn't much activity in the Feedback section it got placed as it was.
I have no objections to this idea and I hope you enjoy the change!
Why? I'm no Catholic but is it that much of an inconvenience? The idea is to accommodate the broader CL community and since CL is(was idk anymore with S5) mostly aimed for the young teenage crowd I think having a relatively clean forum helps appeal to that. I think it's a fair trade.cya wrote:

Still feel free to follow up on the feedback and if anyone else would like to weigh in that would be good.

Re: Suggestion Box
I am a Catholic, ironically, and it seems to affect me the most. Probably because my language is the worst.
Alright, don't get rid of it, because I do get your point. And it's very true that more often than not I don't think about what I type down. Which is why a language filter is good.
My problem is, a lot of the time I use heavy language when I feel strongly about something. And as amusing as it initially was, nearly everything I say is somehow messed up as to make my initial point incomprehensible.
Would there be some way to tone it down a little, replace swears with, I don't know, some kind of euphemism (wrong word probably, you know what I mean). That way if someone DOES write one, the whole meaning of what they're saying isn't thrown off, but we don't have to worry about turning off younger audiences.

Re: Suggestion Box
That is very reasonable. Feel free to send me a list of some suggestions and if they pass inspection it'll be easy to put it in!
At the filtering creation you can only get so creative so what's currently in the filters basically amounts to "no ty" for every word :/
Also people need to LANGUAGE more about the quote color. It's downright awful.

Re: Suggestion Box
Lateness (in replying) sucks, I won't lie. Especially when it comes to this section which I believe should be top priority in terms of checking for mods/admins. No harm done, but I wonder why no mod noticed (and if they did, why no response). No hard feelings though. Thanks for addressing the subject.
About the language filter, I have no problem with its implementation, but I kinda agree about rewording to prevent turning a potential serious post into a joke. If more people feel the same, why not create a topic where everyone can discuss such changes?

Re: Suggestion Box
Why not a public topic where all members can share ideas and actively participate? I don't mind either ways, but wouldn't the latter approach be better for obvious reasons?

Re: Suggestion Box
I call forth a dedicated topic. We can sort the whole time zones stuff there.

Thanks. Can you send mass private messages to all members with a link to the topic? Would be nice to inform everyone at once.

Re: Suggestion Box
Would it be possible to have a feature where when posting a time, the user puts their time zone and the forum automatically converts it to other time zones when others view the post?
As an example:
[time]0900[/time]
Which, if I was posting, would look like '9 am' to me, '4 am' to someone in Eastern Standard Time, '6.30 pm' to someone in Australian Central Time, etc.
It would also be handy if the autocorrected time was in a special colour or font so as to differentiate between times in plaintext and times in tags.
Just a suggestion, but I thought it would be useful for organising things like the chatbox party...

Will be done momentarily. Thank you for yet another awesome idea Legend!

This is a really cool idea. To answer the question, my short and mostly uninformed answer is "maybe". I'd have to consult the Code Wizards I know since this would be a customized change in the script for XL which is a little above my level.
I'll get back to you on this.

Re: Suggestion Box
I think the following suggestion would be a lot easier to integrate: How about a countdown timer on the home page for the event? (obviously after we decide on a time). Calender surely helps, but nothing keeps you constantly updated just by opening the site like a countdown.

This one sounds like I might be able to find a widget for it. We'll see.
