XANA?

I have a question. How does XANA travel all the way from Sector 5, his home, all the way out of the Supercomputer and into the real world? Any theories?

What do you mean by "travel"? Being a manifestation of data, I'd imagine it has the same properties as such.

Ok here is another question. In episode 2, the only reason they didnt pull the plug on XANA was because Aileta was still in Lyoko. But why didnt they just disconnect XANA after they got her out?

Let's make this the general XANA discussion thread.

I guess this is more of a fic-writer thing, but non-writers who just like making headcanon may also have opinions: How do you characterise XANA? Do you think it's developed a personality of sorts throughout the course of the show or is it just a malevolent, mindless programme bent on destruction? I know some people have it take on a physical form on Lyoko and even use human speech (something I'm kind of exploring right now in a piece of writing, hence this post).

Oh and, last question - what makes XANA an effective antagonist, if you consider it one?

I feel as though XANA is such a great villain because it is so scary because we never see it. Only manifestations of his consciousnesses. He also show such little emotion. Such a villain is so frightening because of the fact we know so little about it.

I tend to feel as though XANA sort of wants to prove that he is superior to people in all fields. It just got stuck on the field of murder. No human can murder it and it can't murder any humans. He really wants to win the stalemate.

I believe I've said this before at some point in another discussion, but what I love about XANA is that with no true for or gender, he/she/it gives writers and artists so much creative freedom. You can leave XANA as the bodiless entity on Lyoko that simply activates towers and causes some problems or you can give them a true form or a voice or something slightly more humanoid about them. It also makes for so many interesting fics to read, since I've seen XANA portrayed in so many different ways.

I like the fact that since XANA doesn't have a true form, unlike some antagonists in other series where you may see them talking about their evil plan beforehand, with XANA it's just an activated tower and so you don't always know what's going to happen which keeps you thinking about it and it keeps you watching because you want to find out just what it is XANA is planning.
