So, that looks like it brings us to 12 players:
Cya
Eil
VGCats
Shadows
Kitty
Kelly
Stella
Aeon
Rena
Legend
SMARTAgentKC
Shade
Anyone have a nicknames they would like to be called by, or shall I stick to the names as they appear here? Also, does everyone feel like they understand the rules okay? Any questions? If not, I can be ready to start Monday evening, and we can set up the voting time frames then. And last, but not least, the two player participation roles are open for volunteers, so anyone who wants to be the murderer or psychic, pm asap. Positions are first come, first serve!

Yep :] Everyone who's interested should pm me. However, as per the rules, no one will know for sure if they've gotten the position until closer to the start of the game.
Also, any one who wants to last minute sign up, feel free. There's still some time before we get started~

Re: M&P: Evolution
Will do, Shade. Also, SMARTagentKC, did you have a nickname you usually go by, otherwise I'll probably just call you KC in the story. Same to you VGCats, for now I'll call you Cat.
The game starts tonight! I'm still taking murder and psychic requests so please pm me if you want to be one~

Re: M&P: Evolution
[Double post to alert to game start]
Okay boys and girls, here’s how we’re doing this. You guys know how it goes: I write about all of us in some kind of secluded situation, where we can be picked off one by one without being able to escape. Throughout the piece, I layer in clues to try and help you figure out who’s killing you all off.
Some are really obvious, some are so obscure it’s ridiculous. It’s up to you guys to figure out what’s a hint and what’s not, and figure out who you need to boot from the game—and fast, because every time you get it wrong, another of your number will fall to the killer. When you think you know who did it, send me a pm with your guess. All pm’s are due by 8:00pm est the day after the scene posts (that’s two whole days to try and figure out the clues together). The next day I will post the results: either we get to watch the killer be chased off, or we watch as another of our group is spirited away. Any questions about gameplay, just drop me a pm. I’ll be starting off with a recycled scene from my last M&P attempt—hopefully we’ll get to see just where I had planned for this to go this time.
And so it begins…
Ding-dong. Dong-dong.
Legend groaned, flailing his hand out for his alarm clock. He made a surprised sound low in his throat when his hand simply fell through empty air. Making a few more annoyed sounds, Legend cracked open an eye and searched blearily for the glowing numbers of his clock. Instead, his gaze found his living room. Quirking an eyebrow, Legend opened both eyes as he realized he had fallen asleep on the couch.
Ding-dong.
And someone was at the door. Groaning again, Legend looked around for someone who he could make answer door. “Hey, Cats,” he muttered, spotting the other boy sprawled across the floor. “Cats.” When the other boy’s only response was a loud snore, Legend made an annoyed sound. Pulling the couch cushion out from behind his head, he searched for another target.
Ding-dong.
Shade was sprawled out across the room’s recliner, the television remote dangling limply from one hand. Holding up his couch cushion, Legend closed one eye and took careful aim. “Hey, Shade,” he called softly. The sleeping boy didn’t respond and so Legend, feeling better about giving his roommate ‘a little warning,’ hurled the pillow.
Ding-dong.
Yelping, Shade flailed his arms in legs to defend himself from his surprise attacker, which only succeeded in making him fall out of the chair. A sleep tousled head appeared a moment later from behind the recliner, KC muttering something incoherent.
Sitting up, Shade blinked as he looked around in confusion. From the couch, Legend shouted the boy’s name to get his attention, then pointed to the door as the bell rang again. Shade made a face, but did as he was told, stumbling awkwardly to his feet and over to the door.
--
Ding-dong.
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” Stella called as she hurried over to the door. Pulling it open, she started to say hello, only for her greeting to peter off when she realized there was no one there. Sticking her head into the hall, she looked around in confusion. “Hello?” she called curiously. When no one answered her she shrugged and started to step back inside. She stopped short when she noticed the little envelope sitting on the ground.
“Who is it?” Kelly called, peering around the kitchen wall.
“No one,” Stella said, picking up the envelope. “Just this.”
“Just what?” Shadows asked, her head popping up from where she was lying on the couch. Stella came over and dropped down into one of the living room’s chairs, showing Shadows the envelope. “Who’s it from?” Shadows asked. Stella shrugged.
“There’s no name on it.” Kelly wandered over from the kitchen, nudging Shadows over and joining her on the couch.
“Weird,” Eli said, squeezing in between the two other girls. “There’s nothing on it at all? Not even a return address?” Stella shook her head
“What’s inside?” Kelly asked, before stuffing a piece of toast in her mouth.
“I don’t know yet,” Stella said.
--
“Open it, open it!”
“I will,” Rena said, leaning away from Kitty, who was bouncing behind her computer chair.
“Hurry, hurry!” Cya cheered, also bouncing.
“Why don’t I ever get mail?” Kitty asked, while Rena searched her desk for a letter opener.
“Because you’d react like this?” Rena tried. Kitty ignored the answer, continuing to babble with Cya, both girls now on an excited tangent about the awesomeness of the postal service. Rena rolled her eyes at her friends, while slicing open the envelope and fishing out the card inside.
“So, did you want to see this?” she asked playfully, when Kitty and Cya failed to notice the card. Kitty turned to look at her and blinked in confusion at the card. Cya, however, but two and two together and lunged.
“Let me see, let me see!”
“That was in the envelope?” Kitty asked, also making a snatch for it.
“Yes,” Rena said, quickly pulling it out of her reach. Both girls dived at her, knocking Rena from her chair and the tree fell into a heap on the floor. Rena shrieked, holding the card out of reach from Kitty and Cya—
Only to have Aeon swoop past and scoop it up.
“What’s this?” she asked, eyeing the card.
“We got mail,” Rena told her, she and the others crowding around Aeon to get a better look
“What does it say?” Kitty asked. With a shrug, Aeon looked down at the card and began to read.
“Dear valued Xana’s Lair member…”
--
“…Your membership to our wonderful community is valued in ways you cannot imagine,” Shade read. “As such, we would like to provide you with a gift to thank you for all of your contributions to XL.”
“Who’s we?” Cats asked.
“Who cares?” Legend asked back. To Shade he said, “Keep reading!”
“Please,” Shade muttered, turning back to the card. “Tonight we at XL would like to invite you…”
--
“…invite you to a catered dinner located at XL’s own summer estate.”
“I didn’t know XL had a summer estate,” Kelly said, looking to Shadows who shrugged.
“If we do, I haven’t heard about it yet.”
“Shh,” Stella hissed, regaining both girls’ attentions before continuing to read. “Please meet outside of the estate…”
--
“…the estate, located atop XL’s private island. Wear your dinner best.”
There was a long moment of silence after Aeon finished reading. And then—
“XL has a private island?”
--
“When did we get a private island?”
All eyes turned curiously to Shadows. When she realized she was being looked at, Shadows shrugged.
“It’s not mine.”
“That’s kind of suspicious,” Aeon said, but she was quickly overruled by Legend’s “does it really matter?”
“I don’t think so,” Cats said, while Kelly nodded excitedly in agreement. The others looked at one another curiously, but after a bit of mumbling seemed to come to the same conclusion as Legend—just because they didn’t know about this place didn’t mean it was anything dangerous.
“Maybe it’s Railen’s,” Kitty suggested with a shrug.
“Maybe,” Shadows agreed dubiously. However, the others were quick to latch into this possibility, being very much in favor of any explanation that wouldn’t result in them having to give up a possible free, catered dinner.
“Now that that’s been settled,” Legend said decisively, “I think we should head inside.”
The group, happy to be given something to do, moved with the single minded unity of a mob towards the large estate’s front doors—two towering slabs of polished wood engraved ornately with flowers and vines and what looked suspiciously like flightless arctic birds. Scaling the steep steps up to the front porch, the group seemed to lose its gusto as it came within the final two feet of the imposing doors. Coming to a stop, they stood and, as one, gazed up at the doors. After a good few minutes of silence passed, someone finally spoke.
“So…not it.”
What followed was a mass scramble as people screamed ‘not it’ at the top of their lungs while at the same time trying to simultaneously force their way to the back of the pack while shoving those who had not yet cried the words of safety up to the front. Then, as soon as the chaos had begun, it ended, leaving most of the group huddled together at the top of the stairs.
Most of the group, save for Stella, who blinked in surprise when she realized she was standing alone in front of the doors. Turning to look at the others, she scowled when they all smiled at her, while gesturing for her to knock on the door.
“You guys are lame,” she informed them flatly. They responded by pointing to the door. Sighing, Stella allowed herself one more dark look in her fellow XL’ers direction, and then she turned and, after taking a steadying breath, approached the door. Raising her fist, she did a quick check for some kind of doorbell or knocker and then, with a shrug, knocked on one of the penguins’ heads. The resulting knock echoed loudly throughout the large house, startling Stella. She was then startled further when, like something out of every cliché Scooby Doo episode, the estate doors slowly swung open.
“Uh, hello?” she called, peering into the entryway just beyond the doors in an attempt to spot a door man or butler. “Is anyone there?”
“Hey, it’s open!” someone shouted excitedly. Oddly enough, no one in the group that was majority writers picked up on the fact that a door opening by its self is the first clue in any horror story of bad things to come. Instead their excitement jumbled together and propelled the mob forward once more, the group reabsorbing Stella into their mass as they passed naively through the open doors and into the foyer beyond.
--
As soon as the group was inside the front doors slammed shut. KC and Eil, at the back of the group, looked at the doors and then to one another, expressions uncertain. Tapping the nearest person on the shoulder, KC started to say something about maybe this wasn’t the best of ideas when someone at the front of the group shouted something else a little more attention grabbing.
“Food, this way!” Shade cried, reading from a large sign positioned at the mouth off one of the halls leading from the entryway. That was all the others needed to hear before they were off, scrambling over one another to reach their free dinners.
Suddenly left standing alone in the hall, KC and Eil stood together, looking uncertain.
“Does this seem…off to you?” KC asked.
“You mean XL having a magic new island estate that the admin doesn’t know about?” Eil clarified. “Yes, yes it does.” KC frowned, and looked like he was about to say more, when the doors leading into the hall the rest of the group had vanished down suddenly slammed shut.
“Wha—?” KC started, he and Eil hurrying over to the door. He grabbed one of the handles, giving it an experimental tug. It didn’t open. “It’s locked,” he said, tone perplexed.
“That’s weird,” Eil said, eyeing the door carefully. “Why would it lock?”
“Probably one of the others playing a prank,” KC said, rolling his eyes. At the door he shouted, “Come on guys, let us in!”
The response he got was an ear splitting scream.
Eyes going wide, KC and Eil stared at one another for a long moment, frozen in place. A few seconds passed, followed by no more sounds, so KC grabbed the door, again trying to open it. This time the door swung free without trouble and without a moment’s hesitation KC bolted into the hall, Eil on his heels.
They didn’t get far before they reached the rest of the group, plastered around the edges of the hallway.
“It got dark,” Kelly gasped, the first to notice the pair’s arrival. “It was so black, you couldn’t see anything, a-and then she screamed…” She trailed off into a whimper, clinging tightly to Shadows beside her.
Who, exactly, Kelly was talking about didn’t need explaining.
Aeon was lying in the center of the hall, her blood soaking into the carpeting.
Protruding from her chest was a wooden spear.

Wait, are our votes confidential? Or does the murderer know who voted for who?

Re: M&P: Evolution
People we know aren't the killers are: Aeon (duh), myself and KC. The reason being for me and KC was that we were locked out of the room at the time of the murder.
Right now I'm thinking it's shade. Reason being is because look how anxious he was to get into that room.
Or Kelly, she could be faking her distress to throw us off her trail.
Shadows I have nothing on nor anyone else.
That's what I think of the entire situation.

I like that all that thinking Eil. But don't be so sure about you and KC--we've had many an M&P when the killer took out a player without being anywhere near them ;]

Re: M&P: Evolution
Oh...that Island. I knew about it!
What, you guys act like I own the place or something! Whoever said Shadows had to know every single small little detail about what's going on.
Here is my list of things that could be clues. Doorbells, Postal Services, Wood (it's mentioned quite a few times), flightless arctic birds (details, much?) which are later described as penguins, and spears.
