Chatbox Rules
Since the chatbox has become a very popular hangout in recent weeks, it's becoming necessary to post a few rules and guidelines in order to keep everything as neat and tidy as possible. Remember, mods and admins aren't around all the time, so we won't always be there to prevent arguments or clear the room when the lag starts.
As with any chatroom, the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed than in the main body of the forum. This means you CAN:
1. Use "improper language," meaning u, r, and so on. Though try not to use it excessively, as it can get annoying.
2. Choose to not capitalize sentences.
3. Leave off periods at the end of your final sentence.
4. Double-post or hold a conversation with yourself (so long as it's not a bother to the others in the chatbox).
However, it's a known fact that some rules are needed, as we've noticed a few issues and gotten a couple complaints in the last couple weeks. Therefore, I introduce all members to:
Chatbox Rules v. 1.0
1. Just as in the rest of the forum, be respectful at all times. We don't want any arguments starting here, either. (Though a little teasing is okay from time to time )
2. Don't bring in Sector competitions too much if the people who are present feel uncomfortable with or are bothered by it. Sure, it's a nice place to talk about sectors and how the competitions are going, but we don't want to see any "________ SECTOR IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!111 WE KICK YO...." and so forth. Leave it for designated topics, please.
3. Never, under any circumstances, should you post more than four emoticons in a single post, nor should you continue to make posts consisting only of several emoticons. This makes the chat lag badly, and as previously stated, there's not always a moderator around to clear the chatbox. This one's really important to remember, just to keep everyone's computer from spazzing.
4. ZOMG U R TTLY _____!!!!!!!!!!!! just no. There is such thing as too many caps, too poor of language, and too many exclamation points.
5. We all appreciate links, but try to keep them to a minimum (as well as appropriate!!). Go ahead and share a few, but don't continuously post them throughout your end of the conversation.
---
That's all for now. If the need for more rules arise, more will certainly be added. In the meantime, remember this warning:
You'll get three warnings for a kick, and three kicks is a temporary ban from the chatbox. Three temporary bans? No more chatbox for you.

Re: Chatbox Rules
Honestly guys, it's just common sense. As long as you're not spamming mindlessly or making anyone uncomfortable, it's all ok.

Re: Chatbox Rules
Huh. I think this is a good idea.
Is it possible to change the welcome message on the chatbox from 'You are not logged in' to 'Before you log in, please make sure you know the rules' or something?

Of course! As Legend said, it's all common sense. As long as people aren't annoyed, you're usually good to go.
I can look into that, Enzo. Good suggestion. ^^

Re: Chatbox Rules
I should be sleeping... XD
It's okay to do that sometimes! Just as long as no one is trying to get you to stop

Re: Chatbox Rules
I think that should be the rule. xD
Rule
As long as everyone in the chatbox is alright with it and you're not behaving inappropriately then you can do whatever. If someone asks you to stop. Stop.
/end rulez.
But then again, i'm not an Admin or Mod or anything.... .... *suspicious* XD
I'm in a funny mood. XD
