[-The Final Stretch RP-]

[-Storyline-]

After the episode ‘Down to Earth’. After freeing William from XANA, Jeremie needs to work on the Multi-Agent program to defeat XANA once and for all, however, he makes a shocking discovery on the way. XANA is now aware that he must get rid of the kids here and now, before it’s too late…

MUST READ SECTION!

This is not a normal RP. It is a RP with a dash of strategy added into it. It means that characters and enemies have stat which you must make logical decisions whether you should engage XANA’s monsters in combat, or do something to gain the advantage over the enemy. Also, working with others, showing bravery and courage and being gaining knowledge on the situation.

[-Your Character’s Stats-]

Every character has eight stats, HP, Strength, Accuracy, Speed, Defence, Leadership, Computer Skill and Authority. These stats determine how well your character would be in combat as well as activation in powers and skills. Here’s what they individually do.

HP: The amount of hit points a character has. When it hits 0, the character is devirtualized on Lyoko or knocked out on Earth.

Strength: The amount of damage the character can inflict on your opponent.

Accuracy: To hit an enemy with an attack.

Speed: How fast a character is to avoid attacks and if speed is 4 points higher than the opponent, the character can attack twice in a round.

Defence: Reduces how much damage a character takes in combat.

Leadership: Helps with activation of powers and skills.

Computer Skill: The number of programs, summoning vehicles and speed of typing that can be achieved.

Authority: Commands and inspires the team.

Now, why have I listed them here? It is not only to inform them of what they do but that you can assign 20 points across Strength, Accuracy, Speed, Defence and Leadership. Since HP, Computer Skill and Authority are already predetermined by what has happened in Code Lyoko. Anyway, those would be the base stats of the character you choose to play as.

You can also assign your character 300% of growth rates across every stat except Authority. This determines the chances of a stat increase for a level up. Here’s an example of Ulrich with stats and growth rates.

Computer Skill: 4 | 10%

So, have fun assigning stats to your desired character.

[-Character Associated Items-]

Each character wields some sort of weapon, and that adds onto the character’s stats to confirm the damage the character gives, attack speed, battle accuracy and critical rate in combat. Here’s Ulrich’s weapon for example.

Saber
Might: 7
Hit: 85
Weight: 5
Critical Rate: 10

The might of the weapon (7) adds onto Ulrich’s current strength (3) to have the final total for his damage output (10). The hit of the weapon (85) is added onto Ulrich’s accuracy (x 2) (6) and his leadership (4) is further added to have the final total for his chance of hitting the enemy (95). Ulrich’s strength (3) is deduced from the weight of the weapon (5), and with the points from that (2) is deduced from his speed (7) to determine his attack speed (5). The critical rate of the weapon (10) plus half of Ulrich’s leadership (2) is the chance of doing three times the normal damage (12). This is only a basic weapon, so if you want to get your character a better weapon, buy one from the weapon shop.

Powers are only used on Lyoko, and have an extremely high chance of activating. They increase whatever stat it is associated with. For example, Odd’s Shield is associated with defence, so Odd’s defence is increase by a certain amount of points for some time.

Skills are also only used on Lyoko. Each character (Except Jeremie) comes with an Innate Skill and a Mastery Skill. They both have a low chance of activating, but in turn they do a great deal of damage to the enemy in combat. A Character may only have six skills altogether, and they can be removed (except Mastery and Innate Skills). Other Skills are available through buying them in the item shop.

Items can also be used to recover HP, cure characters of conditions and be traded to other characters if they need assistance. They can be bought from the item shop.

Also, each character has a predefined Affinity they have. The Affinity’s individual bonuses only apply if two characters have achieved at least a C Level Support Bond between each other and they’re five metres or less away from each other in battle. Then, the bonuses would take effect during combat. Each Affinity gives different individual bonuses and cannot be changed to another Affinity.

Each character also has the amount of computer programs they can type up to assist the characters on Lyoko. However, only Jeremie can create new programs and implement them if necessary, he also has the most programs available to him and can type them up the fastest, meaning it takes less posts for the program’s effect to appear.

Each character also gains EXP. If EXP reaches 100, they level up and the stat increases vary. There will never be a level up where a character gains no stats (unless every stat is maxed out). The stats gained through level ups will be decided through a random number generator.

The group can also accumulate Bonus EXP that can be gained through heroic acts, understanding Ulrich's hints (That will be explained later), saving people on Earth and taking a short time to complete missions. However, 100 Bonus EXP does not guarentee a level up. The higher the character's level, the more Bonus EXP you need to put in them. The Bonus EXP can be used in FREE-RP times.

[-Combat System-]

So, you’re probably wondering how the combat system works. It’s not too difficult, but it definitely needs some explaining. Let’s say that Ulrich has the option between battling two Krankrelats that had stats like this.

Now, as the player, you can select between the two monsters that have appeared. Personally, I would select Krankrelat A since it’s possible for Ulrich to kill it in one critical strike. So, to say which monster I’ve selected to battle and to engage in battle with it, I post like this:

Ulrich drew out his weapon wordlessly seeing the two Krankrelats, determining which one he should take out first. He quickly rushes towards Krankrelat A, preparing his blade for battle.

Now, after the post, I would post up how the battle goes like this.

17 :HP: 20
91 :HIT: 42
7 :DMG: 2
12 :CRIT: 0

Critical Hit! Ulrich slashes the Krankrelat right in the eye of XANA, causing 21 damage and devirtualizing the Krankrelat.

Ulrich gains 30 EXP

Wow, didn’t expect that to happen in an example. Using a random number generator to make sure the results are not biased (Although, it looks like it), the combat results may end up in the character’s favour or the enemy’s favour.

Usually, combat rounds go in this order: Character – Monster. Unless attack speed is 4 points above the monster’s, combat usually goes like this: Character – Monster – Character.

Anyway, to get those results above, I just did a few simple calculations. To get Ulrich’s Hit, the Krankrelat’s avoid (4) was deduced from Ulrich’s Attack Accuracy (95) to get 91 Hit. This also applied to the Krankrelat’s hit rate. To get Ulrich’s damage, the Krankrelat’s defence (3) was subtracted from Ulrich’s damage output (10) to deal 7 damage. The same was done to the Krankrelat. Critical rate was determined by Ulrich’s weapon critical (10) and half of Ulrich’s leadership (2) to get a 12% chance.

[-Rating System-]

In each mission, each character would be rated on Leadership, Co-operation, Combat (That would be N/A for Jeremie most of the time) and Knowledge.

Each category will be rated out of five stars, like this ***** (5).

Leadership is showing courage in adversity, making wise decisions and to lead your teammates into victory. It is all about stepping up to the plate. To gain stars in this, your character must demonstrate these qualities throughout every stage of the mission.

Co-operation is based on heaps of aspects. Sharing info with the other characters, giving them warning, working another person and other things that are useful to help other people. Simply, it’s working with another person to achieve a goal. Do that and you gain a star.

Combat is for all characters. It’s simply how much combat you get involved in. You gain stars if you enter combat correctly.

Knowledge is to gain information and to use it to the team’s advantage. That can be done doing research, talking to people or even accidently stumbling on information. Using it to the team’s advantage gets you a star.

Earning a stars in each category earns you 500 credits for each star. If you get 5 stars in one category, you get an extra 1,000 credits. If you get five stars in all categories, you get an extra 10,000 credits.

[-Special Posts-]

[Cutscene]

Whenever you see this, it means that the story is being continued in order to find out objectives and other things. It also means that Free-RPing ends there.

[Ulrich]

When posting as Ulrich during a mission, I’ll be dropping hints within a few of these posts. You can use those hints (If you think you found one) with your character. If you pick up the hints within each post, you gain one star to a category which is relevant to the situation. Now isn’t that worth reading an Ulrich post now?

[FREE-RP]

Whenever you'll see this, it'll be after the mission. Your characters can talk with each other, go to the Supercomputer to upgrade, buy a new weapon (on Lyoko) and buy items, increase their stats by doing activities around the Kadic Campus or focusing on more important things like the Multi-Agent Program. Some characters can also have things around the Campus that is exclusive to them. However, when you see the next [Cutscene] post, you cannot Free-RP anymore.

[-Characters-]

Here are the original characters you can play as. Just remember, you can assign 20 points across Strength, Accuracy, Speed, Defence and Leadership and also assign 300% of growths across every stat except Authority to your desired character. Use Ulrich as an example of how to spread base points and growths across a range of stats. Post the character you want to play as and the stats you assign to them in the sign-up topic. When I approve of the character and the number of stats and growths you’ve given them, I’ll send you a PM with the character’s skills and other things you need to know about them. If all the character spots are filled, I may put in custom characters to allow more RPers to play.

Your stats are okay to go, but it'll be a good idea to put in growth rates so Yumi would actually gain stats when she levels up.

Just remember, you can place growths to every stat except Authority, and it equals to 300% altogether.

Alright, since it's close to Christmas and all, I'm deciding to start the RP soon after Christmas, on the 28th of December (my time) if that's fine with everyone.

So, it gives people time to sign up to the RP if they want to play it, since the Odd and Jeremie spots are still open.

I also want to ask if anybody wanted a tutorial when the RP starts. I believe it may help players to understand how the battle system works and it may clear a few things up. The tutorial post would be posted after the first cutscene, and it's going to explain things that happen during a mission.

Example posts are good, but I've also arranged the tutorial to be interactive. I'm hoping that interactivity would be a good addition too, which is probably what I forgot to mention in my post above. The idea would be considered though if I can't make a complete interactive tutorial though

Gameplay Tutorial
I've decided to post the gameplay tutorial here. It may not be interactive as I hoped, but it'll be faster and do it's best to educate players on how to play the game.

When on Lyoko during combat, you make your character do one action between each of the gamemaster's posts. This can range simply to attack, using a power, hiding behind terrain or using a skill that can be accessed later in the RP. Your decision on what action to take will depend on the enemy stats and possibly other factors. Then, after everyone has posted, the gamemaster would tell you the results of the players' actions. The gamemaster will find out the results after calculating the likelihood of a success then consulting to a random number generator to find out the results. This ensures the results will not be biased by the gamemaster due to two reasons.

1) It's boring and takes all the fun out of the RP
2) No one can realistically win or lose everything

So, here's how it's going to look like.

Example 1
Player's post

Spotting the enemies from a distance, Odd thought that maybe if he shot one of his arrows, he could hit one of them while they were unaware of his presence. He took aim at the dumb looking Krankrelat and fired.

Of course, when the player does post, the player would have thought about their action. Then, after everyone else has posted (or if this was the last player post), the gamemaster will tell the results or the encounter.

Gamemaster post

Odd engages the Krankrelat

100 :HIT: 43
4 :DMG: 3
6 :CRIT: 0

Odd fires his laser arrow at the Krankrelat and hits for 4 damage.
The Krankrelat blindly fires his laser after being hit, completely missing Odd.

Odd's HP: 17
Krankrelat's HP: 16

Odd gains 10 EXP
Odd's current EXP: 10/100

As you can see, Odd clearly came out of that on top, and now the player controlling Odd has to make the next decision regarding the Krankrelat. This time the player chooses to use Shield power Odd possesses.

Example 2
Player's post
Now that the Krankrelat was aware of Odd's presence, Odd felt the necessity to protect himself from the next attack the Krankrelat throws at him.

"Shield!"

Gamemaster post

Odd's shield has successfully activated! His defence has increased by 4 points and will last for three of his posts unless removed at will.

Odd gains 20 EXP
Odd's Current EXP: 30/100

Each action that everyone takes on Lyoko during combat will be decided by chance. Whether you're successful or not depends on what the Random Number Generator ends up showing. So, to be quite frank, Odd was successful, however, he could've had bigger success if he got a critical hit or whether his innate or mastery skill activated to deal more damage to the Krankrelat.

Does the action fail if you're too general?

E.g. Odd fired an arrow.

If you don't say what Odd was aiming at, what happens?

Yeah it does. Odd would just fire randomly. In the first chapter though, I would be generous enough to correct your order though if you make that silly mistake (Keep in mind I may not aim for the enemy you want to attack).

When I label the enemies, they are usually called 'Krankrelat A' or 'Krankrelat B' to distinguish between them. They also have slightly different stats.

If the enemies are completely different like a Krabe and a Krankrelat for example, you still have to mention the letter after them, like if the Krabe was 'Krabe A' and the Krankrelat was 'Krankrelat B'.

So, if there were multiple enemies (That were the same), the post would be like,

Odd was facing two Krankrelats, but could hardly tell which one would be a bigger threat to him. Undecided, he played a quick game of 'eny miny mini moe' to make his decision. Finally, his arm pointed to Krankrelat B, and then, shot off a laser arrow.

Thanks for pointing that out Binary. I knew I forgot something.
