I mean, hi, everyone. Shadows here! Don’t worry, we aren’t burying anyone. And I’m not going to praise anyone. And I doubt that what this message has to say will cause a riot (though I would be understanding- and maybe a bit happy in secret- if it did).

I’ve decided that, at long last, it’s my time to step down as an admin, and staff member in general. It’s not you, it’s me (and yes, this kind of does feel like a break up). I’ve been a staff member here longer than I’ve been a regular member and I can honestly say that I love this place, and all of you wonderful people.

However, I’ve reached a point in my life where I just don’t think it’s fair to me or you guys to continue to admin. As a junior in high school, college is looming right around the corner. Homework assignments have gotten longer and more prevalent, tests have gotten harder, and I just don’t think its right for me to keep doing this. I’m going to be spending my time working on school, swimming, and relationships, and I’m honestly looking foreword to it. I’ll still pop back here of course! Just as a normal hooligan, with no real responsibilities. Nothing to rein me in (isn’t that a scary thought).

That being said, I want to make my last few weeks here as awesome as possible! Thanks! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. This message seemed more dramatic, longer, and more heartfelt in my head.

You're going to be missed as an admin/mod, Shadows. It's been a very fun two (two and a half? already?) years. I've missed you as a member though, and I'm excited for that too!

Shadows, you are one of the greatest admins and friends I have ever known since I arrived here. You helped me fit in and had been always here for me and the others here.

Your advice sharpened my spirit and your words of wisdom and acts of completely random kindness really brought this place to life.

Your life, however, is more important than this forum. But, we will all miss you dear, not only as an admin. But, as a great friend. We will always remember the days you were admin. Always.

So, thank you, Shadows, and good luck out there. Keep in touch whenever possible. I'll PM you my e-mail. I can always use another close friend to talk to.

I'm not good at this, but you were a really awesome admin.

As a moderator, working with you was great. I enjoyed listening to your ideas and hearing your plans to push the forum forwards. I was grateful when you and the team picked me (and Soul Jelly) to be your new mods, and I hope we can continue the good work in your place.

As a friend and a normal member, we had fun sharing fanfic ideas, helping others with their writings ideas/queries and of course, writing them out. I've never been good at drabbles, but your dedication of keeping a weekly drabble schedule is amazing, and it helps a lot of writers here and outside the forum to get inspired with bigger and better projects.

I wish you good luck for your future endeavors.
