Shadows' eyes were shining. "That's it, next year we're all going to be dragons!"

In a whisper, she said, "yeah, Kelly's right. We do have a penchant for trouble."

Rae raised an eyebrow at Shadows idea," I don't think the would work. Collisions in the air hurt a lot more than on the ground."

"Maybe we could turn into different animals, instead? Like a unicorn! Or elves! Or, ooh, even thestrals or hippogriffs!"

"Just stay out of my airspace." Rae grumbled as she tried desperately to salvage this chaos.

"You'd class elves as animals...?" Jell gave Kelly a confused look.

"Anyway. I like my human anatomy where it is, thank you. No shape-shifting for me."

Standing far enough away from the group was a mysterious man with a black suit and a detective's trench coat. He had a hand in repairing the torch so that things could get back to a normal pace. He was now tracking the torch making sure there was no other problems.

"KC to HQ" The man spoke into his radio "situation normal, proceeding with mission."

"Copy that."

Enzo quietly slipped into the XL area. "Sorry I'm late, guys," he whispered. "Just got back from a camping trip and the tube was a madhouse, delays on every single line..."

Shadows, pondering the pros and cons of becomiing a narwhal or rhino. Seeing Enzo comign in, she grinned. "Better late than never," Shadows said. "You didn't break the olympic torch, did you?"

"No." He shook his head. "Urgh. The trains are already packed as it is, and then someone throws themself under at Kings Cross St Pancras? I understand they had a reason, but... honestly."

In this sentence, Enzo demonstrated the native London response to one-unders. If a person went under the train you were on and you were a Londoner, the first thoughts through your head would be: "Oh, how sad. How long is this going to delay me?"

Shadows, who was not from London, paled at the thought. "That's horrbile! Well...at least you didn't break the torch?" she stumbled out.

She turned to look back at the torch that was now working appropriately. "They were smart this year and XL proofed, remember the torch in Canada? But still, we thinking someone did and we're going to hunt them down. We're also going to all shapeshift into animals next Olympics."

[Eilorae]

"My. Airspace. Everyone else is grounded or substantially lower to the ground than me. It seems like I'm the only one who hasn't done a major screwup." Rae grumbled through clenched teeth.

[aelitaxwilliam]

"Enzo!" Kelly grinned. "Now that you're here, we can really mess with the other teams. And oh, someone doing...that? That's really sad. We're glad you're here now though.

At Rae's comment, she smiled sheepishly. "Um, maybe that's the truth, but hey, we can always improve! I know we'll be less clumsy next year as long as we work at it."

"On with the dance," Enzo sang. "Let joy be unconfined."
He then looked affrontedly at Rae. "No, I haven't screwed up either. Unless being late counts. And hold on, there was that time in Beijing...." He glared. "Look, you never told me that we didn't need the giant squid any more!"

"This is so fun!" Kelly clapped her hands. "Do you guys know what we're doing after the Parade of Nations? The Opening Ceremony sure is long."

[Kittyclaw]

"I'm all up for grabbing some food," Kitty said, rubbing her bellly. To Rae, she added, "Hey, it doesn't matter how much you claim to have not screwed up, you're with XL--you're automatically part of whatever chaos we cause."

Shadows, hearing Kelly's remark and Kitty's hunger, looked around. Somewhere, in their conversation, everybody else had left the arena and they were the only ones left.

She checked her watch. It was after midnight. "Guys," she said, "let's get some food! Oh, and, uh...the first even starts in about six hours."

[Kittyclaw]

"Oh snap," Kitty said, her stomach rumbling in agreement with Shadows words. "Maybe we should grab something quick?"

"Who's going first tomorrow?" Kelly asked as they walked towards the exit. "And I think there's a Taco Bell near here that has late hours, if you guys are up for that. There's also a vending machine in the hotel lobby, I think?"

"And there are McDonalds," Shadows said, "I remember reading something about them on Yahoo. But I don't know, it would feel kind of weird to eat McDonalds when we're in England."

"Are there any fast food places here that don't exist in the US?"

[I forgot about that! They might not even have a Taco Bell in England)

[I don't think so...?]

Shadows' stomach rumbled. "I'm sure they do, but I'm just going to whip something up in my hotel kitchen. Anyone can join me!"

Of course, by whip something up, she meant microwave something or make a sandwhich.

"Ooh, what are you making? Eggplant parmasean? Chicken parmasean?" She added after a moment. "I could go for some grapes, actually."

[Taco Bells are very rare but do exist, and McDonalds are actually pretty common in Britain. If you want food in Britain, you get fast food, go to a cafe which generally does English breakfast, or grab a takeaway. Takeaway has become an integral part of British culture: Chinese takeaways and fish-and-chip shops ('chippies') are very common, often being next to each other or even the same place.]

"Let's go find a chippy," said Enzo. "We're in the Docklands, they're gonna be everywhere."

Snickie shook her head. "No way am I eating fast food. Somebody find me a sushi bar."

"Go on ahead, I'm craving some raw meat. Maybe pork, but beef also sounds good right now." She paused and smacked herself at what she was saying. "Nevermind. I'll take the sushi instead."
