I absolutely agree! I mean, they did sorta introduce her into the gang at the end of season 4, so I was kinda hoping she'd really join the team in evolution. (and to be honest, I like her more than willaim, as I can relate to her a lot more)

Sissi has a lot of issues (but let's be honest, so do all of the LWs). I think she could benefit from being part of the team, developing her social skills and becoming more mature.

Plus I really want to see what she looks like on Lyoko. I'm predicting some kind of killer-cheerleader type deal.

In complete honesty, I really don't care about Sissi.

I don't see why people seem to think that she is a good person deep down and that forgives the mean things she does.

Well yeah, but so is everyone else. What makes her so special?

Nothing, that's the point. The Lyoko Warriors act like she's a demon 'cause of all this, but as you said everyone else has what she does. But they still treat her like she's dumber or meaner than them, when face it, Odd and Ulrich equal her in smarts, and the Lyoko Warriors have all had their mean moments. I think if they were in her position, they might resort to what she's done.

I don't think that being a nice person underneath it makes up for 'all she's done', but really, what has she done?

At first, anyway, it was petty bullying. By the time she started resorting to trying to get them expelled, so much had passed...

But that's just my point. They had mean "moments". This was not their usual behavior.

And all the empathy in the world doesn't really excuse the behavior she exhibits.

She is capable of being just as good as the LW's typically act. True.
The LW's are capable of being as petty as she normally acts. Also true.

But that doesn't mean that they are inherently equal. Only that they are both capable of the same things. What they choose to do is entirely up to them.

Eh, I'm not saying she's nice. But I do think that if someone would befriend her, it would make all the difference.

Basically, she was never given a chance. Despite her status, she's treated like a joke to the whole school. No one likes her.

And I agree, that this was her fault. But she doesn't see this, she just hates them more, and tries to get back by being worse.

It's a downward cycle, and yes it is her fault, but (this part is speculation) I think she was tired of trying. In the prequel, she flirts with Ulrich, and he just mocks her. Yes she's stuck up, but he's mean because she's not smart. Mr. Remedial Classes Stern. Making fun of someone for not being smart. Same goes with Odd. She wasn't inherently mean in XANA Awakens, but I think once she saw that everything she wanted and more was bestowed on someone else, I think she stopped caring.

I'm not condoning her behavior, but I do feel sorry for her.

Cya took the words right out of my mouth. She's a sympathetic character in various respects, and not sympathetic in the slightest in others, but I can't help but like her.

Hypothetical question - if Sissi had joined the group instead of Yumi, how different would things have been do you think? Would it have made much of a difference to the show as a whole?

I can kind of see Yumi taking on Sissi's role, retaining her personality but not having the kind of development she gets (remaining pretty much the same Yumi we saw in "XANA Awakens".) It's possible she too might become obsessed with finding out the group's secret.

I could see the love triangle storyline becoming OddxSissixUlrich (in place of the implied OddxAelitaxJérémie) or WilliamxSissixUlrich.

And obviously Sissi being the Headteacher's daughter, we'd get more of the Sissi-Jean-Pierre relationship in place of the Yumi-Ishiyamas familial relationship.

Good point! I had just recently thought up such a story. My thoughts are, Ulrich would still like Yumi (considering I think he liked her, even in just their martial arts class). sissi would like Ulrich, and there would be some tension between them.

But I think Aelita would have had an easier transistion to EArth. Instead of a a bunch of loners and a clown to help her, she'd have someone who knows the school and its working like the back of her hand. Plus, she'd have the power to stop anyone from picking on Aelita.

Just some thoughts.

Please, someone needs to write that (okay, the idea's crossed my head before but I know I'm not going to).

And I could see it definitely bringing about some stress (and an interesting plot-point) mid-season three or four, because she'd constantly be lying and decieving her father- and in a way much bigger than Yumi had and a lot more dangerous.

Here's a question: does Sissi and her father live at Kadic? Because those would be some interesting summers (granted they probably have a home
for a summer). Cause imagine if she did live there, went exploring, and found the factory. Like, after the Lyoko Warriors and all that (or even before).

Sissy is an interesting little charicter. It's so easy to hate her, espeically when she acts like every stuck up "popular" rah-rah girl (no offence to any actually cheerleaders or ex cheerleaders, but Sissy embodies that negitve sterytype perfectly) that we may have come across in school.
But...it's hard to totally hate her sometimes. She's great comic relief, plus sometimes she actually bucks up and proves herself to be braver, kinder and sometimes less selfish than some of the other Lyoko warriors themselves.
Do we know where her mother is? Since we're talking about her background...I can't remeber ever them even mentioning it once in the show....^^;

A lot of people assumed her mother is dead, especially because there are pictures of her a young girl, and only her father's in the pictures. People only bring this up in sympathetic Sissi stories, though.

I always wonder how her mother looks likes act. I saw one fic that her mother died of cancer or some sort of illness.

She said that her source of joy is form her mother and she wanted to become like her also she is Principe of kaidc way before her father was.

I wish CLE would show some flash back on their childhood. I think Every character should have a least shown about their background and might make a song out of it.

I never paid much attion to Sissi's mom (though when it was brought to my attention I just thought that they didn't want to add in another character), but I personally go more for the divorced/working somewhere else idea. But I sort of do hope they say something about it in CLE.

For me, I hate her as a character, BUT she is needed as a part of the story or else some things in the show wouldnt happen. But I absolutely as a person dont like her because she so bossy and arrogent and everything is always about her to her. ok that was my furry XD

I have this dramatic backstory of how her mom died of cancer (or maybe there was a shooting and she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time) and her whole attitude changed because of that.

Agreed, Matt. Well, I do actually like her, but I get what you mean. Every story needs an antagonist like her, because for the most part (and unlike XANA), she's harmless.

She's the General Zhao of Code Lyoko. Only I like her a ton more. She's the person who would be the main antagonist of this was just a school story so I think she's mostly there to add drama on earth as well as showcase that they have more to deal with then just XANA (in the same way the LWs are shown getting bad grades and having parent, friend, and romance trouble).

I just feel that if Sissi's mom was dead, she would have mentioned something, if not in one of her sadder moments that some writers throw in, then at least as a way to make the LWs feel pity for her. Though I don't know if even Sissi is low enough to use a death of someone close to her as leverage to get to Ulrich. (I like her a lot, but she is pretty low).

Unlike General Zhao, she's nice at times. That, and she didn't try to off the moon spirit or anything like that.

I like the idea that something's tragic happened to her mom. I wouldn't really mind this dramatic story of her mom ditching them and everything though. It would explain why she never seems to talk about her mom, since who'd want to remember something like that?

...Add that to my hopes and wishes for CLE! I want to see a backstory about her mom now (in which divorce is the most likely option, I have to admit, but I really really really want to see something kind of heartbreaking — I would not mind a connection to the Men In Black at all).
