Up: Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter
Me: It's a device used in bathroom and outdoor outlets to protect people from accidental electrocution. They work by sensing in imbalance in the current leaving an outlet and the current coming back into the outlet. A difference means a fault exists and electricity is going where it shouldn't (like through your body).

Me: ... I have tested the wet fingers on electric switch several times as a kid. I didn't get shocked. ...and I wondered why.

Me: Wet skin conducts electricity better than dry skin. That said you didn't have a connection between the hot (electrically charged) wire. The switch is plastic for a reason after all Smile

. The real danger is probably more that drops of water can work their way into the switch and short the internal contacts.

Up: Not really, I don't like the concept of getting unwillingly shocked, but XANA seems to have a large fascination for it.

Me: ... and I don't know how ground telephones work. Is the words translated into electrical beeps or something before being transfigured back into words?
