Did you know, a company was planning on continuing it after the original makers had to cancel it. But they couldn't continue it because of the "Serenity" movie that wrapped everything up. If it wasn't for that movie, we'd still have the show!

Sorry, i'm not kidding at all. I was going to love that movie, but after hearing that I can't help but hate it.

I don't know how true that is. Whedon had 7 seasons worth of story planned. That all can't have been wrapped up in the movie, so there still must've been some material they could have used.

Yes, they undoubtedly did have to leave out major things in the movie for the sake of time and money constrants. But in order to fill those holes in the remade series would have to jump around a lot in time and take place in the same timeline as the movie while having plausible places to fill in those holes. Point is it would be very complicated, the simplest thing in the world to do would be to just start the series from season 2 adding on to the first one as it should have been and declaring the movie non-canon.
