Which I can probably do, but not under that kind of time limit and everything that happens in November.

I'd at least try it out, Snickie. If you can look at my stats, they're crazy. It's so much fun, even if you completely lose.

I'm going to try, but with my schedule, I can't make any promises. I'm most likely going to be working on a sequel to last year's NaNo, which I had been meaning to write for Camp NaNo but obviously didn't.

I want to, but I also really want to get ahead on my own stories (of course I could write some of that for nano itself, but then it'd be rushed and terrible and I don't want that )

I'm leaning toward no, but I'm not exactly sure yet, so it's still a possibility.

And Shadows is right; it's really fun!

People have all different reasons for doing NaNo, obviously, but for me, I think the best part is the journey. I discarded my writing almost immediately and I only read it when I want to feel really ashamed about myself (heh). But I had a lot of fun doing word wars with Vena, Elly, and Shadows. I think a couple of other people joined in occasionally too. I wouldn't worry about getting 50K done because no one's going to judge you if you do finish, but the experience is really what it's all about! As far as I've noticed at least, we don't have many events, if any, in the CL-fandom that bring a group of writers together to talk and laugh about their writing.

I don't have high expectations. All I have is an idea which looks pretty solid to me. I doubt I'll make it to 50k words, but at least I'll be able to say "I participated in NaNoWriMo"

Gloating is just awesome when you see the looks on other peoples faces when you say I wrote one novel in a month. I'm gunning to change that one to two in two months! I did it last year and won the word count outa the XL peeps.

I'm doing a sequal to last years which is reality just a more I depth version of my 2nd half of my story.

Just wanted to add to anyone on the fence; XL has legit an awesome support system for this kind of thing. Elly hosted an XL-based NaNo last year, and we had tons of word wars last year too! You can also get tips, words of encouragement, and plot help for NaNo if you so want it. And let's be honest; you're probably going to get advice whether or not you request it, but it's good advice and the kind that makes you all warm and fuzzy inside. I think it's safe to say that people on this forum know what they're talking about.

I've decided that I'm going to attempt this. I don't plan on doing it, but I also realized that losing NaNo is so much cooler than not even attempting NaNo. It's going to be a sequel to my story from last year.

And if I'm starting this at the 11th of the month, I expect everyone else to at least attempt, even if you're super far behind.
