Dobermutt's Application
Name: Dobermutt
Age: 19
Tell us a bit about yourself (personality?): Friendly. I like to help other people. I also love to be funny! But seriousness is also a skill I can use at times it is needed.
Have you ever Moderated a forum before: Yes.
If so, where: I am the head administrator for my own site (Kadic Forums), I am a moderator at The Carthage Spot, I was a former mod on Code Lyoko US and Skidbladnir's Dock (before they moved sites or updated) and I have moderated several other Code Lyoko forums (some of which are no longer in existence)
How much time a day could you spend online: Weekends I am usually on about two to three hours. During the week I try to get on and check up on all of the forums. It depends on what I'm doing during the week, sometimes I spend, at maximum, three hours a day.
What do you think is a Moderator's task: I think a moderator is responsible for keeping order in a forum. For example, making sure the members are following the rules, topics are in the correct place, and so on. Mods must also remember that they need to follow the rules and that they are still under the administrator. But a mod should not only be the ruler keeper, if I may, but also the connector. Members look up to the admins and mods, so it is their job, also, to keep a good relationship with the members. To be someone they can depend on and not be intimidated by.
What could you do to make XL a better place: Hmmm...Well, it's a new start for the forum. The only thing that comes to mind for the time being is help give it a staff. I know Railen is the only staff member so far, and I think that if the forum gets more members, it would be nice to have someone to count on to help.
Why you should be a Moderator: Well, I have moderator experience. Plus, I just thought this place could use some staff, as I mentioned earlier. Being a moderator is a good position to have, but I would be content with just being a member.
Where
would you like to be stationed as a Moderator: I'm not really sure. Where ever you see me fit.
Anything else to add: Ummm...No, not really.
Check: Check.

Re: Dobermutt's Application
Looks decent enough. May I ask how you managed to get 25 of your 26 people online at the same time? ^^ It would be fun to increase the number of most members online at once overhere a bit. Also, seeing as you're the admin, perhaps we could be affiliates?
Why did you quit on moderating at Carthage Spot and do you still have a relation with them in any way?

Re: Dobermutt's Application
I have no idea how I got that many people at once. It was weird, but cool!
As to your other two questions, I would be more than happy to be affiliates with XL. I am still a mod on the Carthage Spot. It's Skidbladnir's Dock that I am not. Since Syrus (the owner) moved the site to a different host, they cut back on mods and admin due to lack of members (The same with Code Lyoko US). I'm not sure why I was removed, but I understand their reasoning based on the situation. I'm still active on the Carthage Spot, but sadly it's becoming like a grave site. I miss that place being active, as well as my own.
Hope this answers your questions. If there's anything else, let me know.

Re: Dobermutt's Application
Pssst. Your entry form looks really great, but... you need 50 posts to apply, apparently.

Re: Dobermutt's Application
Correct. While this doesn't count for veterans, I would like it to be completed before an actual promotion.
XLs logo can be found in my signature, and the adress is well known. ^^ If you could give me yours, I could add it to the site. (We'll probably change our logo to fit with the new XL later on, but that's for after the exams)
Any clue why the Carthage Spot is starting to drift away? How many are still there?

Re: Dobermutt's Application
Sorry about that. I guess I forgot about the post thing...my bad. I totally understand though. I'm perfectly fine with that.
I've added XL to Kadic's friend sites. The button code is below:
I'm not sure what happened to the Carthage Spot. It's quite a shame actually. I know there are (were) at least three/four more active members a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps Sciron is busy with testing and such. I haven't even seen him on in weeks. I've posted a few things within the last few days, but no one responds. I know they still had quite a bit of members even after they moved to this site, but then they all drifted away. That's really all I know about the situation. And as far as I'm concerned I think it's mainly due to a lack of Lyoko fans. Sad day.

Sciron? He was on XL sometime? Under the name 5CarthageRocks, I think.

Re: Dobermutt's Application
Yeah, he was. The Carthage Spot still has the link/button up for XL. 5CarthageRocks changed his name to Sciron.
Re: Dobermutt's Application
Noticed the link, but it still goes to the old one. That's one of the reasons why I asked.
I have no more questions for now (maybe Snowy still does) so we'll see when the time is right. Probably after exams, too.

Re: Dobermutt's Application
Mods also need to be able to be present for meetings, granted they are scheduled in advance as a group, but with time zones and such all the mods need to be flexible. Do you feel you could do this?
Other than that I think that everything is very thorough.

Re: Dobermutt's Application
If I am able to get on the computer I will attend any meetings necessary. I cannot promise I will be present 100%, but I will try. I remember this was hard for the staff of the Carthage Spot because we had to set a time that everyone could be on and still not every staff member was able to be there. We had to go through with it anyways and give the staff members who were absent information regarding the meeting. Sciron or Ratmaster usually documented the meeting details in the staff section of the forum.
Re: Dobermutt's Application
On a trial now, like informed in the PM. Snowy and me wish you the best of luck.
